FRATELLI PIRRONE

Two Maltese brothers with an Italian name - Alessandro & Mauro. The brothers are BBQ enthusiasts who like to play with fire 🔥 They started their BBQ game with the old and classic pink sausage, and now they enjoy cooking some of the finest cuts of meats. Their typical days off include low and slow cooking sessions on their offset smokers and charcoal grills. When the brothers are not grilling or smoking, the two are busy enjoying life with their growing families

MASTER GRILLERS

Two long time friends, been together in scouts and that is where their love for cooking on an open fire started! Cooking led to further experimentation with complicated grilling. They specialize in smoking different meats, other commitments deny quality time for the both of us, however this was not something we could miss!!

PIT BOSS DUO

Ray George and Marlon Cassar are 28 year old twin brothers from Rabat, Gozo. Their love for food started from a very young age - They remember admiring their dad baking and cooking while also trying to give him a helping hand. When they grew a little bit older, their father also gave them their very own BBQ as a gift, and from that day on, their passion for grilling grew immensely.

DANUPHIL

Danuphil met each other almost 10 years ago. It was love at first sight. From colleagues they've become brothers in crime. They both love food, they both fed each other but rarely cooked together. This however did not stop them from going to this challenge together, as they can read each others mind. Both have a flair for cooking but one is more delicate and the other is more experimental. Together no challenge remains impossible.

MELĦ U PEPE'

The team is comprised of Mark Andrew Azzopardi and Darren Grima, who have been paired up for the competition and have never met each other before.Upon meeting, they have discovered they

both like to focus on
technical styles of preparing food and are inspired mainly by American, Asian, and French styles of
cooking. They strive to create an elevated style of food preparation, while keeping the dishes simple
and grounded. The team’s name “Melħ u Pepe’” is a play on the words “salt” and “pepper” in
Maltese, where the use of these ingredients give life to the food we eat and need to be balanced to
perfection. They believe balancing of flavours and quality of food are key to any dish.

THE ODD BROTHERS

This team is composed of Julian Scicluna and Jesmark Scicluna , 2 brothers with opposing characters. Jesmark likes to wake up early and go fishing while Julian likes to stay up late partying or playing video games. Even though they have opposing characters , one thing they have in common is their passion for cooking and this is why they joined this competition.

ZALZETT MALTI

The duo met on work, Carlvin Cuschieri at

the time full time pastry chef offered a sweet pastry to a Salesman Bruce Debatista to taste, from there on the two became friends where the main subject normally is food!

Today Bruce still works as a salesman but Carlvin now works as a clerk.

Two close friends that get on really well teamed up to take the challenge
The name iz-zalzett malti, came from the maltese influence of BBQ.

Ritiann and Jeanpaul grew up together in their home town , Nadur , Gozo. The cousins grew up in a family who love to host BBQ’S in their backyard, they used to admire their parents while barbecuing. Their passion for barbecuing grew as they got older and being cousins made it easier for them to take the challenge.

The UNDERDOGS

Roderick and Ian did not know each other until a few days before the challenge started. They just knew that they were descendants from Adam and Eve somehow . They were put together in the group by the organizers since they were both stars waiting to be discovered. Incidentally, they both work in the IT industry and believe that teamwork and time management is key.
